Richard Kennison

Richard Kennison is the Entertainment Director for The New Town at St. Charles. Richard is primarily responsible for booking all entertainment in New Town, including local bands, live music at the Domain Street Wine Bar, entertainers, jugglers, and more. Richard is a member of the New Town event committee, which is responsible for creating and implementing all of the events in New Town, including music festivals, movie nights, holiday gatherings and other special events. Richard organizes the book clubs in New Town and is a regular contributor to the New Town Courier.

Richard has a bachelor’s degree in Sports & Entertainment Management from Fontbonne University. In 2007 he completed the 60-hour Meeting & Event Planning Certificate Program held at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Wedding Planning was a large portion of that certificate program.

Richard says, “My experience in meeting and event planning tells me that a wedding is simply an event—but it is an emotional one and that’s what makes it interesting, exciting, and important.”
